It has been wonderful coming back to the school for a second time. During this trip, we have had the pleasure of not only getting to know the students better, but also welcoming new children to the school. With the help of the students and staff, our sign language has greatly improved. Additionally we have ever been able to learn a small amount of written and spoken Tamil.
We always enjoy playing with the children during their free time and teaching during the school day. We have had lots of fun playing volleyball with the girls and cricket with the boys, as well as being in the playground with the younger ones.
Throughout our time here, we have learnt more about India and its culture, especially through travelling in and around Tamil Nadu. We particularly enjoyed our day trips to Gingee Fort with the older students, and Sathanur Dam with the 1st – 3rd standard student. We also spent 3 days in Bangalore, where we learned more about the history of South India.
It has been a pleasure to help write biographies for the new students admitted to the school this year. Every member of staff has been lovely to work alongside with, and they have made us feel very much at home.
We would also like to thank Madam Sylvia for helping make our second trip such a success. It has been lovely to get to know and learn more about her work here in India.
Finally, would like to thank all the students and staff at Rangammal School for making our time here so special. We will never forget this wonderful experience.
